About Chairperson
Mrs. Uma Agarwal is an architect, a philanthropist, a women’s right advocate, business women and chairperson of BBF. Through various initiatives of Bharat Bhushan Foundation, Mrs. Agarwal aims to build a community of empowered people, especially women and children.
An architect by profession, Mrs Agarwal started a real estate business alongside her husband, Mr Bharat Bhushan Agarwal, in 1979. She graduated from School of Planning and Architecture in 1984 and since then has been in the leadership position within the company engaged in all business activities. On passing of her husband, in 1987, Mrs Agarwal solely took charge of the company growing it from strength to strength. Under her leadership, Aditya Builders and Developers have built many real estate companies which are engaged in various real estate projects including integrated township projects, Shopping Malls, Multi Storied Commercial Complexes, Group Housing Complexes etc… Under her guidance, Aditya Builders and Developers have completed more than 60 real estate projects in and around Delhi NCR, U.P and Uttrakhand.
Being an educated self-made women, Education for all especially women and children have been of core importance to Mrs. Agarwal. She has carried forward the legacy of community welfare and education for all started by her late husband Shri Bharat Bhushan Agarwal.
Mr and Mrs. Agarwal have deeply been influenced by power of education and believe that educating the youth especially women and children is the instrument to uplift society.
Mrs. Uma Agarwal is a women of vision for better future. Her mission and vision is to work selflessly for the welfare of community, empowering each and every person through education, skill development, good health and equal opportunities. Being a women of strength and courage, Mrs Agarwal has instilled the value of selflessly working for our community and importance of education for all in her children and grandchildren.
Under the guidance of Mrs. Uma Agarwal, Ishaani Agarwal, her granddaughter, has set up a public Library called Dasna Library Project. Ishaani has built this library through pooling money and raising books via donations for community space where rural children and women can study and attend workshops on education and empowerment.
